NEW BOOK, NEW POEM!
Doc’s new book has a new poem to go with it. Here it is:
Rock Splitting Politics—the Poem
When the earth cracks
And volcanoes spit fireballs
When the Status Quo taste political attacks
Then Humpty-Dumpty politicians tip and fall
Political careers cracked beyond repair
Become scrambled Humpty-Dumpties in despair.
Rock Splitting Politics have come
Past political knots are undone
Just as Shakespeare used falling stars
foreshadowing great events to come
The Tea Party shall rise to sing songs never sung
And buffaloes will give birth in the spring
Singing, “Something’s happening here.”
For some it won’t be exactly clear.
But in the end, the transformation will be complete.
Conservatives, come: take your seats.
Poems in the Spring of 2010 by Ed Holliday
LET THE TEA FLOW LIKE A MIGHTY STREAM
Like the midnight ride of Paul Revere
The Tea Partiers have gathered here
To send their message loud and clear,
“Tyranny is coming Tyranny is coming!
Go warn all citizens far and near.
This year everyone must vote
Because we are all in the same boat
And the far left is drilling holes in our hull
And if you don’t want America to sink
If you don’t want us to be brought to the brink
Then rally your neighbors and friends
Rally your churches and your kin
Call out, “All hands on deck!”
We hear Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck
Levine, O’Reilly, and all the radio right
But it is WE THE PEOPLE who are the knights
In shining armor rushing to the fight
Do not go gentle into this good night
No, like John Paul Jones
Let us declare that we have just begun to fight!
Remember in November is our battle cry
We will not forget when our leaders lie
Because truth crushed to the earth shall rise again
Tea Partiers forward march we have a victory to win!!
THE FALL CALL IN 2010
Remember in November we must all stick together
Even though there may be some stormy weather
Patriots must stick together NO MATTER WHAT
Because we can smell our congress starting to rot
The kickbacks and the payoffs and the great big lies
Leave our leaders in congress with no alibis
The voters are the judge and the jury
Come November we will deliver our sound and fury!
We must motivate everyone that we can muster
Because Pelosi and Reid have the arrogance of General Custer
And as patriots and tea partiers gather over this land
May November be remembered as the socialists’ last stand
To the constitution we will remain true
We fly the colors red white and blue
Though some may call us a motley crew
We don’t drink Pelosi’s punch or Obama’s brew
We stay away from the poisoned Kool-aid
We know when the numbers are fake
And for heaven’s sake, we shall shake
The very foundations of our nation
Like a political earthquake
Because the tea party numbers do add up
The patriots gathering are on the up and up
It’s our congress that has grown corrupt
It’s their arrogance that stirs us up
And from sea to shining sea
American Patriots are going to dump congress
Like the Sons of Liberty dumped the tea in 1773!!
The following are poems supplied by patriots in the movement to rid our Congress of members who are drunk on the punch of financial irresponsibility! If you or anyone you know would like to have tea party poems posted here please go to our sign-up page and place your poems or an e-mail address in the comments section. Thanks to the patriots who are sending in the creative verses.
TEA PARTY 2009
By Marilyn Breedlove
April 15, 2009
Like the original Tea Party in December, 1773,
We are here to protest what’s being done to you and to me.
Another TEA Party is why we’ve come together today,
And Taxed Enough Already is once again what we want to say.
As we see our freedoms being taken away one by one,
We know our fight to end this tyranny has only just begun.
Soon our deficit will be in the trillions- too large to comprehend.
But if we stand by and do nothing, we fear there will never be an end.
Our future generations we are bankrupting now.
We must speak out for this we cannot continue to allow.
This is not a protest of any one party or man.
It is a rally to take back our freedoms the best we can.
Nobody else can we rely on to set us free.
Each one of us must control our own destiny.
We feel our leaders have failed us as a whole,
And from us so many of our liberties they stole.
Too long we have stood by while our freedoms were denied.
But we are standing up now and there are many on our side.
Our love for our country is too great to let this go on any longer.
Too many have fought and died to make this nation stronger.
So, we all come together today all across this great land.
From all backgrounds and beliefs, now united we stand.
With God as our helper, and the Constitution our creed.
The price is too great to be defeated. We must succeed!!
INDEPENDENCE DAY
By: Marilyn Breedlove-July 4, 2009
Today on our Independence Day, the Fourth of July,
I feel so proud to be an American; it’s hard not to cry.
Have you ever thought about what you’d give to be free,
if you weren’t so blessed to live in this great land?
Would you give your life, your fortune,
or at least be willing to take a stand?
So many in this world have no idea what it’s like to be free.
People are dying in the streets of Iran just for a chance to live like you and me.
In America we take so much for granted, not thinking of others here on this earth.
We never stop to give thanks and realize just how much our freedom’s worth.
For just a moment, I’d like to pause and ask God to forgive us for our selfish hearts.
I want to pledge to you, Lord, this is the day that within me a new determination starts.
With your help I’ll remember always to be grateful for our blessings and our liberty.
For it’s only by your grace and longsuffering that we’re so privileged to still be free.
I don’t know what I can do to help those who are so bravely sacrificing for what we have,
Or how to show my gratitude for being so blessed.
All I know to do is pray and try to make a difference,
Then leave to You the rest.
Those who fight and die for freedom across the globe
are not just numbers or some distant others.
They are who we once were 200 years ago;
For this cause, they are our sisters and brothers.
So on this Independence Day, dear God, please be with those on a distant shore.
But be with America too, Lord. For we need your touch as never before.
excerpt from the book Freedom
by Ed Holliday
Hear ye, hear ye! From whence I stand
I’ll proclaim Freedom throughout the land!
No words I speak shall place me in a tyrant’s jail,
The words I choose are mine to yell.
What does the Constitution to us bring?
Liberty, liberty and let it ring!

Another poem written by Ed Holliday in the 3rd week of September 2001

Unlikely Heroes—-Rave, Rave!!
It was not unlike
Washington crossing the Delaware,
Or John Paul Jones declaring
“I have not yet begun to fight!”
It was not unlike the night
When Francis Scott Key penned the “Star Spangled Banner.”
And it was not unlike the bravery we saw at Gettysburg—
None better than our Chamberlain and the Twentieth Maine
Or the bravery of T.R. charging up San Juan Hill.
We can hear him still,
“Bully!” and again I say, “Bully!”
It was not unlike the courage shown
By those who moved forward beneath the flag
Amid the screams from the seared lungs and burned eyes—
Victims of the yellow gas.
Or the courage found on Omaha Beach
When boys became men who became heroes proved.
It was not unlike those at Inchon and Khe Sanh—
All the way to Kuwait, when duty called
All gave some and some gave all.
YOURS was FREEDOM’S first victory
In the twenty-first century.
Oh, though, so bittersweet. With “jubilant feet”
You responded to “the trumpet that shall never call retreat.”
No one asked you to fight for freedom—
It was in your blood to ring the Liberty Bell!
The sounding gonging I’m sure
For the murderers to endure
During their virgin-free eternity in hell.
Now, when I rise before the break of day
And search the starry night,
I ponder until the dawn’s early light
Shoots forward the colors red, white, and blue
And then Todd Beamer, I remember you—
And your heroic crew.
God bless flight ninety-three.
God bless America—let the world rave, rave,
For the land of the free,
And the home of the brave!!
