Walk with Me

2010 has begun and your first book and best book of this year should be Walk with Me: A Patriot’s Guide from the Boston Tea Party to Today’s  TEA Party Revolution.  Dr. Holliday has taken the past and how our nation was born and has effectively weaved the growing pains over the years into the fabric of where we are today as a nation.  His book is a call to action for patriots and it has passages and declarations that have never been uttered before.  The book presents a fresh new way for America to look at herself.  After reading this book you will know why the tea party movement is gaining more and more momentum.  Order it today!

Once in a generation, new voices will come.

‘Once in our lifetimes a new movement has begun!

The following is an e-mail that I received in September after Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally on 8/28.

Hey Ed,
I just finished your book and I waned to tell YOU a story. Isn’t funny how somebody youv’e never met can touch you in ways that help change your life. I finally had to get out my “Tea Party” notebook (I am Secretary of our local tea party & keep the minutes) and just keep it handy to write down quotes, alot yours, some others. Anyway, heres a cool link between us strangers over the miles.

Me and my family (Husband and 8 yr old) arrived for the Restoring Honor rally on the previous Wednesday and we wanted to go to the Lincoln Memorial before all the hoopla got started later in the week, so we dropped everything at the hotel and off we went. We got to the Memorial and (doing the tourist thing) took pics of us outside with the building behind us, and then we started climbing. I don’t know if everyone feels the reverence of entering but I sure did. Maybe it is everyone else’s left over feelings or maybe it is this weird thing that is happening to me that is changing me, but I was just filled to the soul with hope and thankfulness and respect (don’t really know how to explain it). Mike and Jonathan are snapping pictures and I can hear them saying “look at this” “wow” and it was kinda like I was seperated from them. I marveled at how large Lincoln was and the handiwork and detail of the sculpture but I was just pulled toward the wall where the Gettysburg address is engraved. I stood there and read it and got to the end “this nation shall have a new birth of freedom…..” with tears running down my face. Just totally overwhelmed with how these words mean so much TODAY.
I just stood there looking at the words reading them over and over in wonder at how they were so relevent to our fight today. Finally, my husband finds me and sees me crying, and a little exasperated says “don’t start here, lets have a good time” and I tell him I am, look at the words at the end. He reads them and says “Wow, we could say that today”. So he pulls me along, cause they have already been all around but I tell him, I need to go to the other side and read this (he is so patient with me HA!, remember he is entertaining the 8 yr old HA!). So I’ve pulled myself together and gone to the inauguaration envgraving and then I get to the “Both parties deprecated war….” and lost it again. How true, except this time, me as a southener was on the right side of the phrase. I will never forget my time I spent in the Lincoln Memorial, it was just as inspiring to me as the Restoring Honor rally was, if not more. And thats saying alot for me, cause my husband says I would follow Glenn off a cliff, and …. I just might (if I thought it would save my country).
Your book was so meaningful to me and throughout I would stop and read my husband or a friend at work some quote (I’m sure everyone is glad I’m done with it! HA!) that touched my heart. I have to say that your words about God using Obama and awakening American patriots to RUSH forward was my favorite. Because that is what has happened to me. I have always voted but that is all, and now I am consumed with saving my country. I saw all the people at the rally and talked to many and all the stories are the same. “Never done anything like this before”, “This is the first time..” yet, from all over America, people came. Many, many people, ALL of them filled with love and hope for their Country.
I kept telling everyone, this is the most perfect book, it’s exactly how I feel, its exactly what needs to happen, we think so much alike, and then I get to the end of the book, to your speeches you’ve given. And how do you end all your speeches….with those very words that struck my soul that day at the Lincoln Memorial.
Thank you for writing the book, and thank God, for my friends meeting you at the airport, and you giving them a copy, and them knowing it was something I needed to read” Funny how all those things lined up so nicely isn’t it? God is at work, he is awakening people, and he would not be doing this if he planned to let our country fail. This thought keeps me going everyday, keeps me from getting overwhelmed with fear and hopelessness. And just when I need a reminder, He sends one. God is truly Great.
Today, I get to do something GREAT, I am passing your book to the next person, who I hope it will touch as deeply as it as touched me.
Your Fellow Patriot,
Monica S.

Excerpts

Chapter One

After reading the speech my eyes centered on the words

from the Bible, “the judgments of the Lord are true and

righteous altogether.” I closed my eyes. I felt the wind

blow and the cool morning breeze wrap around me like

a blanket. I felt a gulf of separation and in the darkness

behind my eyelids I heard President Lincoln say, “Walk

with me.”

I lifted my hand and felt it clasp his. There in my mind’s

eye I saw a continuum of stars shoot like comets, forming

a circle of light that vanished just as a gush of wind lifted

me and then gently let me down into almost complete

darkness. I found myself in a ravine or ditch. There was

no moon above as a drizzle fell. Soldiers were digging

quietly. Noise was purposely suppressed. Lincoln said,

“They cannot see or hear you or me. Listen to what this

man says.”

“There are British sentries nearby. We must all work

quietly, but if discovered and captured we must not

divulge valuable information.”3 The words were spoken

by an unidentified soldier in the darkness.

Lincoln said, “Every soldier here knows that captured

as trenching would allow no quarter – meaning that

they would be shot. This is October 5, 1781, and these

Americans are trapping Lord Cornwallis. He is counting

on the British Navy to come to his rescue because

Washington has sprung his trap. The French navy is

sailing down from New England. After days at sea they will

arrive only fifteen minutes before the British. The Hand

from Above has fixed the winds that be. Lord Cornwallis

will send for terms for surrender on October 17. General

Washington will not know it or believe it, but the long

suffering of the continental army is over. Victory is theirs

but come, let me show you the sparks that lit the fire.”

Chapter Two

Today we find a nation absorbed in uncertainty. Like

conflicting waves tossed about at sea, there is a

thrashing, a gnashing of teeth beneath the surface.

The number happy with the direction of our country

continues to decrease. The unblemished shine of the

phenomenal journey of one Barack Hussein Obama from

the Illinois state house to the White House in just a couple

of short years has tarnished. The nation’s first African-

American president was carried into office on the cheers

of an unprecedented show of support and encouragement

from across America. He is still well-liked as a person, but

his extreme-left-influenced policies, along with the radical

positions of many of his appointees, have been rejected by

the American people.

Chapter Three

On November 4, 2008, when “we the people” elected

Senator Barack Hussein Obama to be our next president,

the American Civil War came to a screeching halt. The

after-effects will be startling. The resurrecting forces will

be unbelievable as the way people think is changed. Listen

America – a constitutionally-based new destiny awaits our

nation. The vastness of the big picture will overpower

the best laid plans of men and women, both liberal and

conservative leaders. Voices of the past are coming alive.

Prayers put on hold for decades and even centuries are

ready to be answered. He who listens to the wind will

do well as it tells us to be righteous and swift. Very few

Americans will know what actually hit them and the actions

will not be what anyone, and I mean anyone, expects.

Chapter Four

If you could visualize in slow motion the train breaking on

the rails you would see what is happening over one year,

two years, four years or longer. How long does a train

being propelled by a civil war for 147 years take to come

to a complete stop? No one knows, and those who think

they do will be wrong. We must remember that we have all

been deceived. The white majority has never understood

the depth of the wounds and the difficulties of being black

in America. The black population has never been able to

see beyond the path placed before them in the past forty

years. Even though their conservative Judeo-Christian

values have remained the same, their voting records place

far left candidates into political offices with no regard to

faith issues. All people of color have been affected, but as

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s niece Dr. Alveda King has

declared publicly, and has spoken to me privately, “There

is but one race – the human race.”

Darwin and the evolutionists are the ones who keep

dividing our nation. Evolutionists seem to quietly leave

off the ending of the long title of his noted work. The real

title is The Origin of Species by Means of Natural SelectionWhen we began to talk about favored races, the evolutionists

seemed to get tongue-tied. I like Dr. Alveda King’s

description of race much better than Charles Darwin’s.

or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life.

Chapter Five

In this chapter you will find very important findings about why we should question cap and traded legislation!!

Chapter Six

On Inauguration Day, President Barack Obama

provided some insights on us as a nation. He

keynoted an era of responsibility. He reached back

past Reverend King and the Lincoln era all the way to our

founding fathers and set a rich tone of American experience.

He supplied us with the ammunition on which to fight this

culture war. Without saying it directly, Obama recognized the

physics in the slow motion train stop mentioned previously.

President Obama called for Americans to understand that,

“What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has

shifted beneath them – that the stale political arguments

that have consumed us for so long no longer apply.”1

He has taken notice that we are in a fast moving train and

the momentum has changed. What our new president may

not recognize is that although he has been instrumental in

bringing the change, he is not the author of change. Just

as President Bush stated in his own inauguration in 2001,

After the Declaration of Independence was signed, Virginia
statesman John Page wrote to Thomas Jefferson: “We know
the Race is not to the swift nor the Battle to the Strong. Do
you not think an Angel rides in the Whirlwind and directs

this Storm?”2

Then President Bush ended his assessment of the

American story by saying, “This story goes on. And an

angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm.”2

Will Hollywood change the words it uses on the screen

as they discriminate openly? For years now Hollywood

68 69

productions have taken the name of Jesus and have

made it a profanity, yet how many times have they

taken the lead prophet of the Muslims and done the

same? Discrimination? Absolutely. Of course, this type

of discrimination is acceptable to Left-wing political

correctness. How many times have we heard the Judeo-

Christian faiths ridiculed by movies, their followers given

roles in movies that stereotype them as less appealing and

sometimes even downright pathetic? Anyone who has ever

watched the original version of Titanic (1953) and then

watched the updated Titanic (1997) will see a dramatic

contrast in presenting the profession of clergy. The hatred

and the disrespect of modern Hollywood toward anything

claiming righteousness and salvation is astonishing. If

Hollywood uses the name of Christ in vain then why not

abuse the Muslim religion the same way? It’s because they

should never make fun of and desecrate anyone’s faith to

begin with. Instead, they choose to discriminate foolishly,

all the while telling Americans they don’t discriminate.

Hollywood discriminates because they love to do so.

Wise discrimination is a tool for living in peace, whereas

foolish discrimination is a selfish endeavor. Discernment

between wise discrimination and foolish discrimination is

for the most part common sense.

Chapter Seven

The big wheel has turned. The little wheel will be turning

when black Republicans come to power once again in the

South. How will this happen? I suspect it will have to do

with the government forcing the bowing down to the god

of same-sex marriage and the unchecked placement of

abortion clinics in heavily black populated areas. We will

soon see. The Republican Party would be foolish not to

listen to and understand the wind that is now blowing at

their backs – a righteous wind prophesying:

When the black Republicans return to power
Then America will see its finest hour!!

The selection of Maryland’s former Lt. Governor,

Michael Steele, as the head of the Republican National

Convention was a first step in reaching out to the African-

American community. But this is only the first step. The

winds of righteousness are blowing for whichever party

that desires to seize the day. With the election of Barack

Obama, fate placed the reins of power into the hands of

the Democrats. If the Democrats base their decisions on

righteousness then it will be the ruling party for years to

come. But if they get cocky and derail the Judeo-Christian

values on which our culture thrives, the Republicans will

return as the majority party. If the Democratic leadership

advances special rights for people who worship the “little

g” god of homosexuality then African-American pastors

and faith-led people will have to either change the party

from within or literally change to another political party.

Chapter Eight

The first thing the Republican Party needs to do is to

author legislation that will immediately open Alaska’s

ANWR oil fields with environmentally sensitive proposals.

The Republicans should work with the Congressional

Black Caucus in developing legislation that will ensure

some profits from ANWR oil will go to provide grants

and loans for college educations. Entities like the United

Negro College Fund and other organizations should be

asked for input. These scholarships and loans could be

issued on top of others available to poor students that

perform well in high school. These incentives would not

have to wait until the oil is pumped. Stock plans or oil

as collateral could involve banks and loan programs so

that the scholarships could start immediately, influencing

our entire economy for the better. Building on its

success we could open up offshore oil sites to also put

funds to work. If African-American politicians are forced

to go along with the global warming hucksters of the

Democratic leadership then they will have to explain to

their constituents why the elites are so smart that we do

not need a robust business plan to pay off our debt, help

the poor and build a better America for our children.

The expensive enterprise would keep jobs in the United

States

States. A new tax base would be created. And black, brown,

red, yellow, white and all children from everywhere across

America will know that if they study hard and play by

the rules they will inherit an opportunity that many in

previous generations never had – a college education.

America would become a far better place if legislation

like this would pass. Oil from Alaska would make us less

dependent on foreign oil, provide thousands of high

paying private sector jobs help and establish a foundation

that would keep giving long after all the oil has been

pumped out of the ground. Who knows, there may be

billions of dollars of oil. We will never know until we open

the place up. Black leadership working in conjunction

with the Republican Party could get this bill through the

House and the Senate. Would the first African American

President veto such legislation and victimize the poor?

Chapter Nine

Though Dr. King was taken from this world by violence,

we are here on earth to help make his life complete. If he

were here today, I know that as a pastor, as a minister of

the gospel of Jesus Christ he would cry for the spiritual

starvation that is in America. Like his niece Alveda, I

too believe that he would fight against the system that is

killing five black babies for every one white baby killed

in the womb, as a per percentage of the population. He

fought for the voiceless, for human dignity and the human

spirit that strives for liberty. Just as Jesus spoke from the

prophet Isaiah:

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim freedom for the captives

and release for the prisoners,

to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor6…

I know not what God has in store for me, my family or

America, but just like so many pilgrims, patriots and

pioneers, I have felt the call to pursue liberty and freedom.

With urgency I pray that every reader that hears these

words will join me and my family to lift our hands and say,

“Precious Lord, Take My Hand.”

Just as Jesus called the fishermen to leave their boats and

follow Him, just as He called to Lazarus to come forth, so

too is He calling out for all Americans to, “Come, walk with

me . . . .”
